Why are we here?
Why does any church exist for that matter? Well, we can't answer on behalf of anyone else, but we feel that what is set out here both answers the question, and gives us a good foundation for everything that we do as a church:
Wilmington Christian Fellowship exists to experience, demonstrate and proclaim:
Experiencing the Father's love as we worship together, and become increasingly secure in who we are in Christ.
Demonstrating the Father's love in our involvement with our community and the wider world, through acts of compassion and service.
Proclaiming the Father's love as we reach out to those around us with the good news that He, "so loved the world that he gave his only Son".
Experiencing the grace of Jesus as we learn to live as forgiven people, as we share in communion together, and as we learn to look to the future without being limited by the past.
Demonstrating the grace of Jesus as we model acceptance of all we encounter, regardless of whether or not we agree with their beliefs and lifestyle.
Proclaiming the grace of Jesus as the core of all our proclamation, to believers and non-believers alike, as we learn that following Jesus is not about jumping through an ever-increasing series of hoops.
Experiencing the friendship of the Holy Spirit as a reality both in our worship together and in our everyday lives.
Demonstrating the friendship of the Holy Spirit as we step out and believe He wants to touch people's lives today to bring healing and wholeness.
Proclaiming the friendship of the Holy Spirit as an integral part of what it means to live as a Christian, not just the privelege of a super-spiritual few.
